I do agree with him though that the Dunlop Elite3 250 does has a very flat profile. If you see the E3 240 side by side with the E3 250 (*both on a 8.5" wheel) you'll know what I mean.
I don't think that the author was biased so much as just having a real world point of view. While I absolutely agree that the wide tires LOOK great, they serve no performance benefit unless they're installed on a purpose built drag racing bike that's ridden in a straight line only. They'll allow a bigger footprint of the rear tire enabling better traction. However, in the world the rest of us live in (street riding), they do make cornering more difficult in comparison to narrower tires.
