On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best one being the fugliest i would rate the stock pipes at about a 6.5 and these big nasties would be in the 2-3 range. I am not bashing Fuggin Fab or anyone else, just throwing my honest opinion out there.

I'm with Dead Spider and Shane....stock pipes look better than the viperx, but stock pipes don't sound good and, if I'm not mistaken, some of the other bikes in the Honda 2010 lineup have the same stock pipes.....that kinda takes away from having them on the fury...no uniqueness......

Default viper x

the stock exhaust to me is too long and bulky... on the other hand this is coming from a former sport bike rider and theres no sound like a two into one

Senor Gar * I am really impressed with this design. This exhaust design is the first exhaust system that I can actually in vision on my bike and is definitely more of the look that I am personally seeking. I would love to see this design with just with a little added feature of a turn down with slash cut at the tail exist to see what it would look like as I think that might be the perfect look for this bike. This exhaust design is the first design I've see that truly follows the lines of bike and actually looks like it belongs on the fury. My compliments to you on a a fine job. Nice work! Dave

Default Viper XF or other version –

The model of the Viper XF or other variation is what we call our S-14 exhaust style. We have done this exhaust for American V-Twins and a number of metric bikes. We have not done one for the Fury as of yet. I have attached a picture of the VTX1800 tooling for the S-14. If this is a style that is wanted we can look at the fit for the Fury. The problem we are having now is that we don’t have a Fury in the shop for development. We have also done this same exhaust for the VTX1300.

Let me know what you think.

Doug;

What's the diameter of these headers?

Cheers

The S-14 pipes are a 3 step exhaust, 1 3/4" Dia. out the exhaust port for about 1 1/2" to a 2" Dia. head pipe into a 3" collector. The S-14 is basically the same pipe diameters as our Viper & Viper-2 exhaust system. This design has been used on a number of V-Twins motors with outstanding performance results. Between the S-14 and the Viper styles these pipes designs are the best equal head pipe lengths we can get for the Fury. The closer length the head pipes are the better the performance in a 2 into 1 exhaust

Doug, do you have any theories as to why the VT1300CX motor is running with a shortened (16° less) power stroke on the rear cylinder; i.e. retarded ignition and advaced exhaust I speculate that it has something to do with the uneven firing of the single crank pin design and compensation for the shorter rear exhaust pipe.
Gar,
To tell you the truth I am not sure why Honda does it this way. What I do know is Honda’s PGM-FI system is adjusting based on the engine speed and throttle. The ECU is adjusting the motor based on the intake-port pressure, engine-coolant temperature, intake-air temperature and atmospheric pressure. All this takes place a number of times per second. The motor itself is adjusting fuel, timing and firing along with all the sensing that’s going on. Honda’s design engineers have always done some different things with timing and valves to create a more efficient and emission friendly motor. I think this is one way they are trying to do so. The only way we are going to know what motor is doing with all the adjusting is to get the ECU codes and 3-D ignition mapping. If you get that information let me know, I would like to break it down.
