Default Remove Master Cylinder sight glass?

I'd like to chrome the front brake master cylinder. Is it possible to remove the sight glass and reinstall it?

I've been told no, can't be done, but I don't know if it has to come out for chrome. Gateway has them for 110 bucks (exchange) Gateway Xtreme

I took mine off and polished it, looks as good for nothing.

And that's an Xtreme price also for such a small piece, I could see like $60 at the most but $110 is to much.
