And, still, if you do pop the needle off the spindle, it only takes the smallest amount of light model glue or super glue to glue it back together.

One more suggestion if you need to use glue to reattach the needle:

Let dry overnight before putting the cover back on or you will end up with a fog on the lens from the glue.
