I guess a good MIG wire feed welder is around a $grand but it's the best money you'll ever spend . It basically quadruples your options for mods and the way you get into it will probably pay for itself in a year

I don't have a garage, everything I do is on the backyard. My wife don't care how much time I spend working on the bike but she is going to divorce me if I buy another tool like a MIG welder as it's going to have to be stored in the house LOL
Years ago I had a 120 volt welder and it was not very effective. I've had the 230 volt Lincoln SP175 Plus for 15 years and actually welded ½" plate with it (rated up to 5/16"). Although discontinued I'd keep an eye out for something similar but used and that you can verify it works .
Add a gas bottle and a hand cart like this guy did and you're good to go.

Sounds like you need a trip to Lowes and get one of their sheds to put in your back yard. I wish I could bring one back to Oz with me but the Customs boys would go nuts because of the timber. They'd want to fumigate it and quarantine it for ages and then charge me a fortune.
