"DIY" Turn Signal Mod, LED Light Install for beginners

I purchased the extended warranty, I bought my Fury yesterday and I hate the lollipops, so I was looking into this thread heavily, and a thought came to mind -- will this void my warranty??

I forget the exact name of the law, but it was passed in the mid 70s i believe. The gentlemans last name started with an "M", that much i remember.

It states that your modification has to directly contribute to the failure of the machine. Basically, if you replace your lollies ... and the cam throws a bearing ... your still covered. If you replace your lollies and you short out your ECU ... your F'ed.

Can you short out the bikes wiring by replacing the bulbs with LEDs? Im not sure. So many have done it, that i havent seen any problems that cant be fixed by correcting a simple crossed wire.

I can tell you that with out the propper resistor, you can not hook up the running light ( white runner wire ) to your LEDs.

First: No, you will blow a fuse first... Unless you're Murphy's Cousin, then don't mess with anything and pay to have everything done...

Next: If you modify your bike you are taking on the responsibility for your modification. If you make good relations with your dealer, they will help you fix anything that breaks on the bike that doesn't have anything to do with the modification, just make sure that your modification is not the reason they are fixing it in the first place and it will not void the warranty. Things like changing out your pipes, your air cleaner are of concern when it comes to your warranty.

These items, if you engine blows or something goes wrong with your engine, will bring your mod into light and you will most likely be the one having to pay for your mistaken mod. Just an FYI for you guy's and hope this helps.

Oh, the wires, I tried them out both ways (wired them up both ways)and they work both ways (It's just Direct Current), but go by what I suggested here in this DIY and you should be fine.

Wow all of this under $100.00, Will start getting my order. Do you recomend a better LED?

You can try my second option from AutoZone... I used these to replace the other LED's in this and they only cost me 20$. Painter put some on his bike and I think I put a link to that guide or at least, pictorial guide on the first page... If you need more info, let me know.
