Hobbies
Anyone into Model RR'ing? Specifically O scale? I'm currently planning a large setup to entice the little one to help out, just wondering if anyone shares an interest and can direct me to info/forums on O scale...
I've have plans on buying from ebay and refurbish and weather cars/locomotives then re-sell, so if anyone is looking to offload some old stuff hit me me up.

When my son was around 5, we went thru the model railroading craze. My dad retired from the rail road in KY (L&N) so he was a great help. The numbers on our engines had to be period correct. Good luck, I know it will be a fun project. It gets costly quick!

Yep I just shelled out 300 bones for a locomotive... It's crazy cool though.

I've got my Fury; between buying parts, and buying tools to make parts, I can't afford any other hobbies now.

I got into R/C cars back in 1999. I have a Traxxas T-MAXX 2.5 that I set up to run dirt oval. I also bought three more T-MAXX's for parts. I won the track championship at WINROC raceway in 2002. I also raced a team associated GT with a modified body on it. I won many races with it but no championships. The money adds up quick on these "toys". I put a new bullet in the oval T-MAXX, a 2.5R and never put nitromethane through it. It's funny that this thread popped up because I've been thinking about firing it up here lately. I've got an electric plane, an Aerobird that flies well. It has been sitting for years. I will probably get it going again this summer. I just bought an electric helicopter that I fly in the house. It will fit on a pack of cigarettes. Something to do inside for the winter.

Are you going with Lionel or some other product such as Bachmann? The Lionel track is three rail and the others are 2 rail. Lionel claims there track is easier to wire.

Not into trains so I can't help. I do like my traxxas stampede and other r/c vehicles. I like to chase the dogs around the yard with it. I clocked the truck at work on a half battery doing 22mph. I have some of the new brushless motors with lipo batteries doing 70's.
