I've heard that they never accounted for leap year so that day has come and gone.

Sorry, but, leap year has nothing to do with it. Leap year is an adjustment in OUR calender. The Mayan B'ak Tun calendar is based on the solstices which has nothing to do with how you count days. However, just because his is the end of the Mayan Great Cycle does not mean it's the end of the world. But they felt that we would line up with the Great Rift (a black hole in the center of the milky way) causing a reversal of the poles.

Maybe it will just reverse our weather and it will be 80* and sunny every day here in Indiana  A guy can wish.........

Interesting fact.....the magnetic poles have already moved a significant amount in the last couple years. It's been kept quiet, but it's true.
