380 or 9mm ???
Getting my life time state permit to carry and am in the market for a new hand gun to carry. Never owned or shot a 380 but am told it has more punch? I know ammo is more expensive but just wondered what U-all thought ??

I have a 380. Like it for concealment. Can hit what I shoot at, so go for it.
Always "shoot to wound!"
Why then were we taught to shoot center mass when we shot silhouetts.
lol.

Id go for the 9mm. Cheaper ammo. Less recoil is a more accurate shot.

Just for information sake, any pistol with a removable magazine is on the ban list set to hit the table Jan 22.

You need to go shoot both, the 380 is usually smaller and easier to conceal, it does not have more punch, might feel that way since the barrels are usually short, it is also known as 9mm Short. 9mm ammo is usually more readily available, till the last month.

Dang jw I don't know what to tell ya, I've got a Helwan 9mm.. its is made in Egypt and is a copy of a Beretta , it's gotta 5 inch barrel and holds 8 rounds.. i like a lot and shoots great... always wear ear protection... lost hearing for a week one time in my left ear... scared me..lol. now I wear protection.
as far as small or large caliber... heck they will all do a great job... shoot I don't want to be on the wrong end of a bb. gun!!LOL
Be for you buy. might could find a gun shop with a shooting range a try a few out to help you decide what suits you best.

Accuracy and dependability depend on brand. I have my CCW and carry a 40 cal Bersa. It is the new design to be more rugged and dependable. I owned a Ruger 380, 500 rounds through it and never had a problem, wife said it was too small for her to carry. I wanted something to put someone down once.
