sounds like they told you that was what it was called and just rolled the extended warranty and the service plan into one and called it an extended warranty, it's cool either way you are covered with an extended warranty and a service plan, I hate to bring this up but if in fact that is what they did then it sounds like you got overcharged <which if you are happy with what you got then that's all that matters> as the extended warranty costs around 500 and a service plan usually goes for like 500, either way thanks for explaining.

Just heard from the shop and they are submitting the paperwork to have new seals put in... did not catch which ones but it was a total of three in the shaft. You all might want to keep an eye on the under side of your swing arms. This showed up pretty fast... I am going to start watching for other issues in hidden places every month. Should hear something back for sure and will find out which ones exactly by tomorrow.

Well they finally got back to me today and said that they will be covering the repair and all expenses... my issue is that the dealer now says that they do not know if she will be done by Saturday since they just ordered the parts today... funny thing is that they told me that they where ordering the parts on Monday since they are only $20... doesn't make sense.

Yeah that is stupid, they should have ordered the parts regardless if it was a warranty repair or not, like you said it was only a $20 part and I'm sure you would have paid out of pocket for them if you had to.

Yeah I would have... the whole thing was stupid... but I have her back and all is good so far. Talked with the tech before taking off... he said they ended up only replacing one of the seals. If you go through the service manual and look up final drive removal and take a look at the drive shaft you will see a seal at the gears going into the pinion joint. According to the tech there is a small hole that allows oil to get to this point in the pinion joint. All good, right? We will see... I am looking further through the manual and have noticed another seal on the pinion retainer ring... now this one goes around the outside of the pinion joint so makes me wonder if they got the right one. Like I said we will see especially when the tech said they will most likely see quite a few of these come in for repair. So keep an eye out on the under side of your swing arms folks.
