Default Road Hazards

Imagine this on the bike ... I hope this never occurs to anyone on a bike or in a car!

This woman was filming how to vehicles were basically a "rolling roadblock" and wouldn't let others pass.
Then, that happened!

HOLY F**K!
Would never see that coming! It appears the vehicle in front of her didn't even see it. Not even a slight swerve from them.

I work these type of crashes once in a while, they can be nasty. Thank god for the reinforced or layered windshields or more would be fatalities.

Same here, worked plenty of accidents involving debris thrown through windshields. That coulda been bad.

Many years ago, when I was still a kid in h.s., a motorcycle hit a piece of wood left in the road of the Baltimore beltway. Sadly he died.

The MD State Police took the wood and got information from the stamp on the wood. They traced it to it's lumber mill, then to the its next destinations (transport company, store that sold it, person who bought it ...) and found the person who dropped it on the road in the first place. They were charge with involuntary manslaughter.

Not that it could bring the motorcyclist back from the dead, but at least they just didn't shrug their shoulders and do nothing.

Meanwhile, I think this rendition is even clearer:

I don't think the car in front hit the wood; I think the draft drew it up off the grass.

A couple of weeks ago a good buddy of mine was riding up to Reno. Just outside of town some idiot in a pickup lost his canoe. It took my buddy down hard. He has already gone though several surgeries with half a dozen more schedualed for when he recovers enough to survive them.

The canoe hit him so fast he didn't even see it coming. He is real luck to be alive.

After driving a bike for 31 years I have had a few close calls.
Yes not only with the cagers but with the crap that falls off or the crap that they swerve to miss and you are there because they did not aviod it.

saftey on a bike is always # 1 you are not seen and by the looks of the video why did you follow so closely?

three cheverons behind

mississippi one mississippi 2 mississippi 3 just past where you were.

She was way too close to the car in front of her. I hate being around any cars while on the interstate because you never know what many drivers will do. I will either speed up or slow down to get away from them and in a clear part of the road.

Wow that would suck! I hope he recovers ok even though it sounds like it's gonna be awhile.

I don't follow people carrying canoes, kayaks ... and of all ... LADDERS!
