I agree with those who feel it was a mockery. To throw "In Jesus' Name" at the end is shameful to me. Heck, all he did was thank god for the sponsors... didn't even pray for the drivers' safety.

But that's me, each man's faith is his own. This pastor's invocation puts him in a class with Father Guido Sarducci and Reverend Billy Sol Hargus for me. And I've laughed at those fellas, but I wouldn't count on them for salvation.

I can just see his prayer before a football game...

"Thank you lord for Riddell, Starter and Champion
Thank you for sideline paint and hot cheerleaders
Thank you for pigskin and gatorade...

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
Win this game
We must, we must!"

We are called to be fruit inspectors though & that man's fruit is rotten! It is men like that man that made the mockery out of the prayer that gives God fearing, Bible believing Christians a bad name.

This is all just my opinion though. It just fired me up, sorry if I added fuel on the fire.
