That's true.
But, so is everything Eggers stated, as well.

I have a good friend who is die-hard Republican. If he and I talk politics and I state a reference, his response is to call me an asshole. THAT is the same thing going on in DC - one side is trying (with their weak little spines) and the other is just obstructing.

Three points and I'm done:
1. Mitch McConnell said it awhile back, priority one is to make Obama a one-term president. His colleagues, to get elected last round, said priority one was to create jobs. But, they've not done jack shit to create jobs and are following McConnell's lead.

2. The GOP cares NOT on iota about the working man. A GOP insider who worked for the GOP for 28 years is spilling the beans that the GOP is working not only for big corporate interests & the rich, but against the working man:
Goodbye to All That: Reflections of a GOP Operative Who Left the Cult | Truthout
The irony of the working man supporting the GOP is like having an organization called Jews for the KKK!

3. If ever there was a facist lean in our gov't, the GOP is orchestrating it. Look up facism ... it totally opposes liberalism - and THAT's a fact.

Do they forget that their party stuffed their shit in it to destroy it's sole purpose for helping the states cope with (let's take texas - Perry) a 50% population without healthcare insurance, does this GOP party realize the cost the states are burdened with when it comes to providing health care for those 50%...

The GOP is going to fight this tooth and nail and if they know they won't win they they'll just stuff their "OIL" fat in there like they always do...

I just don't understand why everyone hates this president so much, why because he's Black? Everyone is out to get him and blame him for GWB's failures, (light bulb)yes people it's the idiot with 2 terms before the current that F'd everything up....His tax breaks were for the very wealthy not for us middle class, Billions of dollars going over seas to fight 2 wars one of which was waged on fabricated stories of WMD's.... Billions wasted, so now you don't have NASA because the GOP decided it was fun to fight 2 wars, those billions could have been spent to keep the shuttle flying, but they just needed to kill Saddam didn't they cause the first bush was inept in doing so...

And yes I'm well aware that the Dems do the same damn thing, I'm not proud of it, none of us are but for love of Spaghetti, stop believing what the GOP are spewing... that depate was pathetic the other night.

Stop complaining... it's your own party that is failing America...

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I'm just aggravated and again wasn't directed towards you, but at the GOP themselves... Shit they're all F'n Liars and I'm just fed up already........................................... ...............................................

Same old thing, both sides......you aren't proud that the Dems do the same thing, yet you still attack the GOP........you and I both know we could attack each party in the same manner...........as St. Pete would say....TESTIFY...........they all are guilty of using the same tactics, each side....for the love of GOD, stop believing in what both parties are spewing and focus on true, balanced solutions........

No worries Eric. I didnt take offense. I also know the plan will change drastically with crap from both sides once congress gets a look at it and starts stuffing it with other random things. I agree with you that both sides of the political specturm are to blame, even though your rant might have been a tad bit unbalanced

My comment was around people jumping on this Job Acts bandwagon without all of the particulars being released (who qualifies for these entitlements, how long they plan on keeping these entitlement in place, etc). We have only heard the highlights of his plan, not what he is sending to congress. I think the full plan will be unveiled in the following days. Once that happens, you will either be able to pick it apart or support it or a little of both. Here is a good link to the overview:

Fact Sheet: The American Jobs Act | The White House

I also think its biggest flaw in this plan is how it is paid for. This plan is supposed to be paid for by the Joint Committee recently established. They already have to decide how to reduce the agreed upon 1.5 trillion in the upcoming months. Adding an additional 400-500 Billion is not going te help, especially when we (both Dems and Repubs) couldnt agree on how to reduce the 1.5 trillion as discussed last month.

Yes both parties are corrupt, and the Tea party isn't based in reality. The only thing I hear is spend spend spend. And not on the things we should spend on. Uncle Sam get your hand out of my pocket.

I agree both parties do their damnedest to get re-elected, so I guess that's were 66% of households in America should weigh in by not re-electing incumbents but vote in new candidates and see if things change... make the ultimatum change it or be voted out....

From 18-25 I was a Republican, When I got married things changed, I started to lean more to the left on Ideals cause I found my party wasn't working for me anymore.... Why tax the Middle Class more??? We are the ones driving the economy, not the rich (they have everything already) not the poor, It's the middle class that is 9.1% unemployed right now...

Yes I'm for raising taxes across the classes, because simple mathematics tells me my Govt cannot pay for everything in the budget by lowering taxes to just the wealthy, ALL Americans need to take the hit... Some more than others, these rich people are so greedy...

This govt/party situation is not working for any of us it is only holding us back.

Bullshit on that I pay enough taxes and I'm FAR from wealthy. I want a straight percentage tax for all income levels.

To show my lips aren't permanently planted on the presidents ass....

Quote:
5. Fully Paid for as Part of the President’s Long-Term Deficit Reduction Plan.To ensure that the American Jobs Act is fully paid for, the President will call on the Joint Committee to come up with additional deficit reduction necessary to pay for the Act and still meet its deficit target. The President will, in the coming days, release a detailed plan that will show how we can do that while achieving the additional deficit reduction necessary to meet the President’s broader goal of stabilizing our debt as a share of the economy.
And just how are they going to do this when no one wants to cut anything as it is right now?????

Quote:
Modernizing Over 35,000 Schools – From Science Labs and Internet-Ready Classrooms to Renovated Facilities:The President is proposing a $25 billion investment in school infrastructure that will modernize at least 35,000 public schools – investments that will create jobs, while improving classrooms and upgrading our schools to meet 21st century needs. This includes a priority for rural schools and dedicated funding for Bureau of Indian Education funded schools. Funds could be used for a range of emergency repair and renovation projects, greening and energy efficiency upgrades, asbestos abatement and removal, and modernization efforts to build new science and computer labs and to upgrade technology in our schools. The President is also proposing a $5 billion investment in modernizing community colleges (including tribal colleges), bolstering their infrastructure in this time of need while ensuring their ability to serve future generations of students and communities.
Shouldn't my school tax be doing this already??????????????? Oh that's right it all goes to a supervisor which is making 500k a year and my kid comes back from school and tells me a teacher told them the US was the richest country in the world today (is this teacher oblivious to what's going on) I sent a letter to the school yesterday asking they review where and how this teacher was educated.

Quote:
Expanding Access to High-Speed Wireless in a Fiscally Responsible Way: The President is calling for a deficit reducing plan to deploy high-speed wireless services to at least 98 percent of Americans, including those in more remote rural communities, while freeing up spectrum through incentive auctions, spurring innovation, and creating a nationwide, interoperable wireless network for public safety.
What??? Why??? My phone does just fine, leave this to the private sector please...

Quote:
Investing in Low-Income Youth and Adults: The President is proposing a new Pathways Back to Work Fund to provide hundreds of thousands of low-income youth and adults with opportunities to work and to achieve needed training in growth industries. The Initiative will do three things: i) support summer and year-round jobs for youth, building off of successful programs that supported over 370,000 such jobs in 2009 and 2010; ii) support subsidized employment opportunities for low-income individuals who are unemployed, building off the successful TANF Emergency Contingency Fund wage subsidy program that supported 260,000 jobs in 2009 and 2010; and iii) support promising and innovative local work-based job and training initiatives to place low-income adults and youths in jobs quickly.
How about just get rid of welfare, then maybe these lazy low-income youths will get up off their asses....

I certainly don't agree all the time with my party, and there are some GOP folk I do agree with at times, I lash out at the GOP because their party leaders are so out of touch and are hell bent on destroying the DEMS initiatives without looking at them...
We all know both parties are at fault for their useless salvo's going back and forth, I find myself defending this president because everyone is so infatuated with his color and where is birth certificate is that they don't see he is actually trying to do something.
There are a lot of things in my view that could be cut out of the budget asap but that'll piss those people off so the only thing left is to raise taxes on ALL... We need to start living within our means, the Govt has to start exercising the same.

Bullshit on that I pay enough taxes and I'm FAR from wealthy. I want a straight percentage tax for all income levels.
I feel your pain but it needs to be this way if they want to balance the budget by keeping everything in place, simple math we pay more out than we take in....
http://www.businesspundit.com/12-cou...est-tax-rates/
You'll find this country to be one of the lowest tax rates in the world, I'm sure 2-3% isn't going to hurt all that much.

And I'm one who JUST a few months ago got "hi-speed" (6 megs big deal) and my phone does NOT get signal where I live so I want that part. I will not pay 150 for a signal extender when everyone else gets it for free.
NO NEW TAXES cut spending on the millions of frivilous unneeded crap.

Because our technology is lagging way behind Europoe and S. America something horrible. If we want to keep up, we need to try to keep up.

The private sector is fighting over sharing towers or having to build anew. The towers should be community property and all the providers should have access to compete on each tower. Let their quality of service be their selling or dying point.

BTW, I know a really quick fix to some of the current budget ... unless & until Congress & the President get SOMETHING done, NONE of them get a paycheck. Let them live off their savings and let them sell one of their homes or cars or motorcycles or kidneys to pay their bills. THAT would get their asses straight f**king in touch w/ regular Americans these days.
