Has anyone seen a copy of the actual proposal, or are we all going off of the outline he laid out last night by the President? My initial fear is it is the president playing politics and will keep jobs coming until reelection is over. I try to keep myself as partisan as possible until I actually see the proposal. Just wondering if anyone had seen it or had a link to it. My 2 cents.

That's just one.

Look, everything that has ever started off as a good idea has either not been well thought out for the long haul or it's been overly abused.

Examples:
Social Security (long haul issue) - When first introduced, not many people lived long past age 65. now, with people living well into their 80s & 90s, that system needs to be revamped to account for longevity of retirees. AND, if you want to see how people don't plan well - if you've thought abolishing SS and letting people invest their own money - look how many people are living well past the age they expected of themselves and well beyond their personal investments, let alone getting social security.

ACLU (overly abused) - Back in the 50s/60s around the Civil Rights movement, this organization was HUGE in ensuring people's civil rights were protected. And, there are still cases here & there of that. But, when they go nitpicking, for example, about how inmates are treated in jail - hardened criminals who decided to take someone's life and, therefore, gave up their rights to be treated kindly - that's a waste of our money.

NAFTA (abused & long-haul issues) - This idea looked really good on paper, but it didn't account for the number of jobs that would vacate the USA because of the loopholes to "incentivize" sharing our manufacturing jobs with neighboring countries.

It's overwhelming how many things are a mess. But, you gotta start somewhere. And, I think we need to reinvent ourselves and reinvest in us. We all need to pull together because our success and our future relies on each other to pull do something towards to the greater good than to just cheer & jeer from the sidelines.

disclaimer: Forgive me... this is not an attack directed towards you but at your assumption.

Do keep in mind that these bills get stuffed with the other parties pork so that they will pass the bill... Look at the health care bill that these GOP candidates are complaining about and that they will "executive order" it out once they become president... Do they forget that their party stuffed their shit in it to destroy it's sole purpose for helping the states cope with (let's take texas - Perry) a 50% population without healthcare insurance, does this GOP party realize the cost the states are burdened with when it comes to providing health care for those 50%...

The GOP is going to fight this tooth and nail and if they know they won't win they they'll just stuff their "OIL" fat in there like they always do...

I just don't understand why everyone hates this president so much, why because he's Black? Everyone is out to get him and blame him for GWB's failures, (light bulb)yes people it's the idiot with 2 terms before the current that F'd everything up....His tax breaks were for the very wealthy not for us middle class, Billions of dollars going over seas to fight 2 wars one of which was waged on fabricated stories of WMD's.... Billions wasted, so now you don't have NASA because the GOP decided it was fun to fight 2 wars, those billions could have been spent to keep the shuttle flying, but they just needed to kill Saddam didn't they cause the first bush was inept in doing so...
