They're Back
Was sitting in my car at lunch today, enjoying the weather. Looked up and saw a Love Bug crawling across my windshield..............

I'm sure glad we don't have those here.....as far as I know....at least not in abundance.
What we do have here now is lots and lots of rain. The weather finally cools off for some nice riding and the rain comes back! Once the rain stops, I'm sure the temp will drop and it'll be too damn cold to ride. I haven't ridden the damn bike more than 3-5 days since before July!

Same thing here, was in the low 60's today with rain, suppose to get into the 30's tonight. For the home game this Saturday against Washington suppose to be in the 60's with a 50 percent chance of rain and a strong north wind. this sucks, way too early for this.

Yes, they come in thousands and are attracted to exhaust fumes, so they are flying near the highways. They are softbodied and splatter. I remember once I used to live in Pensacola and dated a girl in Mississippi. Got caught in a bunch of them in Alabama. By the time I got to Mississippi, my blue jeans were brown from the knees down and my shirt was brown and crusty....had to go to my grandmothers to get out of the clothes and wash them before I went over to see the gal. They stick to paint and if you don't get them off right away, they ruin the paint job. They usually stick around for a few weeks.

This has been a bad year for riding in Kansas, and I guess up there in Nebraska also by what you are saying........unless you like to ride in the rain, and then blistering, suffocating heat, and then more rain..... Unless the forecast changes, it's supposed to rain here until next Wednesday when it heats back up the 80's. Might be able to do some riding then.
Sorry for jacking your thread, Horse. Back to your bug topic. Maybe you should post a pic of a "love bug", so we can see what they look like. Of course before that happens I will have already looked it up myself.

We had the rain, then the heat, then the rain and now it's decent. Seems like the weather pattern hit us before you. Hope it clears up for you. You might want to put a charge on that oem battery of yours.

I don't remember the last time it rained. So dry in Texas, fires are popping all over. Last night I was playing tennis in an ash storm while a nearby park was on fire. Never seen anything like it.
