Leaving the Forum...
Just getting a little tired of some bull-shit...
Maybe it’s because the Fury has been out for about 2 years now or maybe its because I've pursued, asked, shared, offered, prototyped, joined rides, displayed at shows and seen countless others do so on this forum striving to share 'good deals' or organize 'group buy' to offer products/services and help other riders out with problems and answer question as they did for me... That I found it some what comical that a person posts a pic of a stock sissy (nothing wrong with a stock sissy bar... I rock one!) and labels it a modification.
Yeah... I "hazed" a newbie because he posted a pic of his OEM sissy bar and called in a Mod 2.0. I jokingly posted a pic of MY OEM sissy bar! He took the joke in stride and responded well... I even stated... "I am back on my meds!" in a humorous way. Done deal. Don't F*kn apologies for me!
Why am I leaving the forum?...
Maybe its because most members a year ago were breaking new ground, adding knowledge, testing, fabricating, customizing, sharing their triumphs and failures... Now people are posting pics of parts that come on the Fury from the factory and calling it a modification. Placing sticker flames on their tank they got from Advance Auto! Modifying their tire valve stems with skull caps! It is "adding a part" or maybe on the verge of customizing, but ITS NOT A MODIFICATION!!!
Shorty Steve added the Corbin kit to his Fury, but Modified his rear fender by fiber glassing a custom "F" tail light and sissy bar into his rear fender. He made this forum exciting! God rest his soul! He tried new directions and gave good and honest feed back! ST Pete taking a chance on a total different paint scheme I really have not seen on any bike ever with doing a Gator skin effect! Richard working with Sumo X prototyping their 250 kit! Raw 1 going crazy with a one-off 330 wide tire kit. MFR making some of the sickest one-off custom pipes I've seen! Painter providing paint knowledge! FOTM winners who put a lot of time into customizing their bike! People providing information on where to buy New Grips, New Levers, New Foot Controls, New Suspension, etc... They have located and are willing to post on a thread to help others... People doing patches, organizing meets, stepping up to ADD something to the forum...
Many forum members have gotten frustrated on newbies for asking questions that could be answered easily if they took the time to click the "search" bar... "Will a 240 fit on the Fury?" how many times have we all heard it... Not once did I ever "haze" anyone that asked a question! I was that guy that asked questions. I wanted to pick the brains of those that had knowledge... I didn't ask "why?"... I asked "how did you do that?", "where did you get?", etc...
I got Hazed for 6 months for having reflectors! Did I take offense? Nope! I didn't not because I have a pair of balls and a sense of humor. Rather i posted a video on "Reflector Removal". People have asked in a post, "How do you like my paint job?" Some answer to be nice and say, "It looks great!" when they are lying and think its look hideous! I've clearly said, "I would not have chosen those two colors, but that’s just me." I'll give you the truth... good or bad... just as I will with a product I've installed/tried or company I've bought from.
Some take me as an Asshole. Fine. I could care less. Some take me as cocky. Their opinion. I'm damn well confident though! I'll be the first to say that its because of a year of asking questions, learning and achieving. Members on here have won trophies at bike shows with near stock Furys and God Bless em! I have and will congratulate them every time, but come on people... Don’t post pics of OEM factory 'mods' and not expect to get a little hazing or messed with. I had it done to me for not taking a stock 'mod' off my bike (reflectors) so grow a pair (which he did and I like that about him!)
Like others... I've busted my ass, spent a lot of money, devoted alot of time and even lost some blood into customizing my Fury and have shared every step of the way with all of you on this forum so others can learn from my failures and success... I'm damn proud of my Fury and have achieved alot of new ground for future products and exposure. Yeah... My bike took first at last years Easyrider show in Charlotte even though I got laughed at by Harley/Chopper guys prior to the show. Yeah it got shot for VTwin Magazine and I'm damn proud of it! I'm not cocky... I'm proud that its supposed to be the first Fury set to be featured in a national magazine... I'm proud its the only Fury equipped in the world with Nitrous! (that I know off at least) I'm proud its the first Fury to feature a Platinum Air Suspension, the first ever to have a 2 seater Gangster rear fender and has parts on it that are strictly one-off, hand built pieces!
Im proud that each and every member will be able to show a national printed magazine to their Harley/chopper buddy and say... "See that... I own a Fury too!" or even better yet a 'newbie' join the forum and say he bought a Fury after seeing an article in VTwin mag of what a Fury can become! DAMN right I will be PROUD should that day ever come! Anyone would! One member posted a thread, "Why hasn't there been a Fury in VTwin?"... my reply was..."I'm working on it..." Well I’m a man of my word and I worked on it!
Members who know me know that I'm humorous at times, but a straight shooter all the time and I hold my character in high regard. If I have had issues with people I let them know and then move on. I don't hold grudges because life is too short.
My advise to newbies... if you have questions, Ask away, but also try the search button and read up on old posts. Second, Check out the gallery of members who have been on here a while. This will give you ideas and inspiration from their hard work and vision. Third, try to contribute to the forum... you could be the one find a new site/company that is offering a cool product for the Fury because new stuff is coming out everyday!
For those that don't know me and think I'm an Asshole... maybe I am, but you obviously have not taken the time to find out for sure.
For those that get along with me... Love you guys!
Either way... I need a break from the forum. A lot of members have my contact info so just ask around. I check my email bout every day.

i thought your post on the sissy bar was funny. i didn't think it was mean spirited. must be the cold weather coming in that cause people to be cranky.
there are a lot of times i never finish my post because of things like you said. i dont want to hear all the bs over a silly question or comment. so i just do a lot of reading and not much talking.

Don't sweat it man. We were all in his shoes once. Buying some cheap part and being happy about it. I laughed my ass of at your post as I was thinking the same thing. I also believe that mod 2.0 man can take it. If he can't then screw him. You be yourself, and even though a newbie might get offended, they will learn from it regardless if they want to or not.
Don't leave bro. You have much to offer and many people respect you.
Oh, and can you tell me why you put Nitrous on your fury please? It's not meant to be a sport bike or go fast.
LOL I'm kidding. I want you to stay so I can read you flame someone else. You should just add to your sig " Hey Fucktard, I'll post what I want. Oh wait. That's already been done. It should be in the FAQ!
If you stay awesome. If you go forever, ride safe bro.
Peace

Sorry to see you go
Many of us "old timers" hang out on the other Fury forum. No BS over there, just relaxed and friendly.
Cheers

This is par. As usually the point here went right over your head. There is a difference between "hazing" and all out spitting in someones face! We are all suppose to have a common bond in being here. To share, learn, get together and have a good time while enjoying our rides. This kind of shit is why people don't post. If it is below you or doesn't interest you don't bother your important self reading it.

This whole thread seems a little silly if you ask me. If you want to leave, then leave. Unless your intention was to have a bunch of people post "happy stuff" like, Oh, please dont leave, your the best, you have the best bike in the world etc, etc.
People are always going to ask questions, thats what a forum is all about. If everyone gets their head chewed off for asking a question for the 1000th time, there wont be much of a forum.
It would be nice to have you around, but I understand where you are coming from. ride safe.

Wait. What? Huh? Where am I?
Christ, I get a girl and go off the Forum for a weekend and come back to things gone mad. Weren't a few of us just talking about how much of a lull this Forum was in, lately?
And, I didn't know changing valve stem caps was a mod ... I need to update my list In fact, didn't someone list changing the air in their tires to nitrogen as a mod?
Here's a prescription for calmer days:
* Less caffeine
* More sex
* More riding (that's not a repeat  )
* Good beer

Half the excitement of starting down the new Fury road is asking what is to some a redundant question. Most realize you can look up the answers but the fun of the forum is conversing with others who love their bike & riding as much as you do. I was clowned about reflectors , paint pens, certain terminology's but it's all good.
The closeness of rider brotherhood is what most are after.
