I was a Dale Sr. fan until he died. I didn't completly stop watching nascar after that because I wanted to see what was going to happen with his ride. I'll never forget Harvick winning on his 3rd race. I still watch nascar every once in awhile. I however do not miss a single NHRA drag race. 8,000 horsepower burning nitromethane and going 324 mph. in less than 4 seconds amazes the shit out of me. I go to Reading Pa. every year and I used to go to Richmond before NHRA dropped them. There simply is nothing like standing behind a Top Fueler or Funny Car while it is being warmed up in the pits (every ticket is a pit pass at no extra charge) and trying to breathe while your eyes are burning from the nitromethane. And just when you think everything is great, they smack the throttle to 8,000 rpm's to seat the clutch and everyone within 80 feet of that particular pit jumps because it scares the hell out of you. And when two fuelers go down the track, the ground litteraly shakes as they go past and are applying the clutch. I still DVR all of the nascar races and watch them as I fast forward through the comercials or until I see tire smoke and watch the wreck, but it will always be NHRA for me.
