Default KOSMAN Rear Wheel Mod

I am doing the Kosman Rear wheel mod and was wondering if anybody knows the Specs for the Wheel Weld up Form.

Honestly, I don't know. However I do know a couple of people on here that have done that MOD, and the end result was less than desired. Nothing wrong with Kosmans workmanship, that was first rate, just the end effect. Tire bulge and not enough tire widening in a good way. Consensus was on this application, it just was not worth the dollars for the end result. Billy79 was one and he did a good write-up of his experience. Might research for that?

Cool

I bought billy's kosman rim & used the the Metz 240 40 18 & have no tire bulge & have filled the stock swingarm & fender to the max. 3 grand for the sumo was too much for me but if you have that kind of disposable cash layin' around Mental you should go for it! The 250 sumo looks great probably gives a good straight line ride but cornering has to be a little worse than stock. If you got the$$$$ & want the look go sumo. My 240 makes even the new HD;s with wider tires look like they're running bicycle tires. Billy wasn't satisfied even with the sumo sold his Fury.

Loner, Mental was just trying to let this individual know of some other options and experiences of others and to maybe do a little more research before making a descion. I do not think his post deserved you biting his head off.

Cool

Wasn't biting any head just saying I'm satisfied with the deal I got on someones used kosman & not having 3 grand plus for a wider tire set up. I'm also fortunate enough to have a Fury & enjoy Mental's posts & info.

My apologies then. I read too much into it. I too appreciate Mental's contributions to the forum. I also like a good deal on slightly used stuff.

Do you have any pix to compare with the original 200 tire. Does it really looks like 240?

I have ridden my stock tire size and Richards 250 back to back. I did not notice anything different in straight line or cornering between the two. I know notice a difference since he has gotten the 8* degrees in combination with the wider tire.

How much was the work for Kosman to widen the rim and a new tire, less than a grand?
