If im not mistaken, i used my impact sockets that i picked up at Harbor Frieght for $10-15. I dont remember having any issues or needing any special tools for my tear down last year. Other then the C ring pliers for the brake calipers.

No special tools, the problem was that the circumference of the heavy duty socket I got from Auto Zone was too large to fit in the recess of the bottom tree. I got a normal socket from Sears and it worked with no problem.

A few more tips -
Headlight
If You don't want to mess with the headlight innards it isn't that difficult. Just remember when assembling the trees to make sure the wires on on the right side. I had to take it all apart and do it again since I didn't have the right side wiring on the right side! Also take the wires out of the retainers.

Fender
It was easier to remove the wheel first and then the fender and especially the same in reverse - put the fender on before you put on the wheel!
