Who's got the best compressor in there kit ? Are there any models that will keep u off the fender incase of a line failure ? Or are u stuck ? And I guess the big question is are they all 1000$ + or am I not seeing something . I was going to hold off on this mod but money is money weather I spend it now or later
Best air ride you'll get is eating lots and lots of beans. However, refrain from wearing tight jeans and boots cause if you use the air ride you'll blow ur boots off.
You need a 3" bore by 2" stroke double action cylinder if you want it to be like the platinum kit so you can adjust the rebound.... A 275C air compressor and some sort of valves to get the air from the compressor to the cylinder and associated air lines and fittings and a relay for the compressor... And if you want instant up like mine you will need an air tank... Then you need to build a lower bracket to attach the cylinder to the swingarm and the knowledge and ability to figure out how it all goes together... Lol
As I said before if you search the forum I have listed in detail the parts you need and even pictures.
I've used every air ride out there. Tricky has the best cylinder. All the kits come with a,small compressor. Trick has a really cool way of making the valve and compressor one part so you only have one line. Platinum has a bleed feed where it puts air pressure in the bottom chamber for rebound. It's a cool way to do it but doubles the chance of popping a line. TRicky has a valve you set how you like and rebound is the same every time. Tricky and platinum will let you ride in the all the way down position. Tricky you can set how far all the way down is with spacers. Platinum is $1049
Tricky is $899
My setup also allows for adjustment of the down position via the threaded bracket I built for the bottom. In my opinion the Platinum is the way to go because of the adjustable rebound... It just gives you more options. But for $400 you can build one like mine if you have the skills and save the other $600 for other mods.... Like a reflash... So $400 air ride + $375 reflash = $775 still leaves $225+ for other mods... Just my 2 cents... Your mileage may vary.
I was just going over receipts last night it's a good thing I don't have anyone to answer to they wouldn't like what they came up to in the last couple months
I second this statement brotha! It's the only reason I can afford all of the toys and trips to Whistler, Stevens, Montana...money goes where I want it to.:toast:
I have a used platinum simple air ride kit for sale. It has upgraded valve and works perfect. $650 with the 97c or $750 with the big viair 275c
