Default sumo-x hub question

Hey guys

Looks like my motorcycle season is closed and now I have lots of time for 250 tire…

I talked to one guy who built 300 wheel on intruder. He bought both wheels from rc components without hubs and after ordered a custom hub. He told me that rear hub was less than 150$ for him. So I’m thinking of this approach.

I looked on sumo-x wheel and the question is about rear rubber dampers. Am I right that sumo-x wheel doesn’t have them and stock flange just tighten with bolts to the new wheel? Is there any difference in ride between stock wheel with dampers and sumo-x without them?

One more question about swingarm. Am I right that sumo-x swingarm is just stock one with some small notches? And there is no cut and welding to widen it?

I really didn’t notice a difference in the ride going from the stock to the 250. The swingarm is cut and re-welded for extra support, not just a “notch”.

I don’t want to take the wind out of your sails, but I don’t think you’re gonna get a 300 on there without compromising alot. Offset engine/tranny, new swing arm all together and the list would go on and on.

If you are serious about going this direction, I would call Kurt at Sumo-x. He has been down this road and may be able to save you some time and aggravation.

Good luck bro!

The swing arm is cut out and because this cut makes it thinner Kurt places a SOLID aluminum piece where the cut was (stock is hollow) made and this actually makes the swing arm stronger then it was stock due to the new thinner area being solid.
I really didn't think there was a difference in the ride either. BUT THE LOOK IS AWESOME!!

Richard 300 was an example with guy who did custom hub. I want only 250 side, I believe 300 should be enormous work and budget.

If swingarm was cut in middle and then widened, this is hard work I believe and would probably go for sumo-x arm. However if it was notched from right and left side and then welded for additional support I want to do this by myself.
I’m in Russia and ordering such heavy things as swingarms via parcel could double price. I can weld myself so I want to try this.
