Default Idle Lowering

By the Way..

A question of sound is the idle lowering..

I got an mechanic trick.

The carvurator has an electronic idle bypass to hold the idle speed.

I've drilled a hole into the carburator an set an bild in it. At the outside i build an bracket to adjust the screw inside the carburator. So i can control the air flow thats passed the electronic bypass by closed trottle.

I can regulate the idle speed down to zero...

At the picture you will the the screw outside the carburator - between the air filter an the first zylinder..

I sounds like a Harley in Idle Speed...

regards

Dirk

I believe someone is a little confused. Like T said, these bikes are fuel injected, no carb.

I'm sorry, this was really confusing to me.

Default Manual Idle Screw

Hey guys, Dirk has come up with a clever work-around . Not sure if the oil pressure would drop and I would want to check that but the sound would be great.

In translation what Dirk is referring to is the throttle body which has an air passage that bypasses the closed throttle to allow the engine to idle. There is an electronic valve that regulates the size of the passage to give 900 RPM no matter what. Dirk has added a screw that overrides this by closing the idle air passage down (where the auto valve is located). Even though the stepper motor air valve opens more to try to bring the idle back up to 900 the restrictor screw overrides it. As this screw restricts the airflow the fuel adjusts automatically (as it does for any throttle opening) to yield a slower idle of your choosing

ahhhhhhhhhh, i understand.....kind of, i will go sit in my corner now.but wouldn't the charging system be too low at such a low idle?.....lol..............t

Maybe .

You'd have to ride it once in a while instead of sitting around idling trying to impress all your Harley buddies .

Senor Gar has understand what i've done - and he has it better explained as i could.

I override the electonic with an mechanic way.. an YES - the Idle speed should not to slow in cause of the mechanic oil pump.

But you can go a lot more down.. the old VT (with the same Motor will have an Idle about 700 - 750 r/pm - the Fury has round about 1000) I think the cause is the burnt gas..

An Yes - it's an electronic injection - not a caburator....

(i don't took the right word in my head... )

and the screw is UNDER the electronic vave - before this valve can regulate..

There is a chanel from the main inlet (the Throttle Channel) to this valve. It goes 90 degrees tor the front of the Bike. This chanel is perfekt for an adjustment cause you can easy drill a hole in the body housing. The screw will then come out between the filter body an the cylinder.. quite perfekt.. i will make you an drawing and scan it..

Ohne Sorgen mate.
