Default pair valves/autotune : a very good idea never read here and a question

Hi guy
- So, in first, pair valve must be removal for use with autotune.
- With a switch on the PCV we could choise between autotune mode or base map.

So, with a tri-polaire switch it would be very easy to have :
- position 1 : base map + pair valve controlled by ECU
- position 2 : autotune and pair valve closed (by input direct 12 V on solenoid valve to closed it)

I think It's not a so stupid idea because (in france) there is sometime some controls on streets to see if your engine is "clean" and don't pollute...

So flipping a switch, could be a good idea !

The only question : To be closed, the solenoid valve must be on with 12 V.

I have tried, and have seen the solenoid became hot after 5/10 min,

My question :
If I have understand pair valve function if we stay in full trhottle on an away for exemple, pair valves are closed... But it's never for a very long time...
So, is someone know if a solenoid valve can support to be always on 12 v for very long time whitout burn and destroy ?

Its defiantly going to heat up with 12 volts applied to it for extended time, you would be better off to disable it, the pair system only lets oxygen into the exhaust to help ignite unburned gas in the exhaust pipe and if you do a after market exhaust then you wouldn't pass your "clean inspection" anyway unless the after market exhaust has a catalytic converter in it.

If it is just a visual inspection insert a ball bearing to seal the intake PAIR hose just behind the air cleaner .

Thank's for opinion...

With after market exhaust without catalytic converter, it's sure... Mine have one converter

I told me too, when I ride in town, in the traffic, it's a good idea for clean inspection AND for our planet !

But I think this solenoid valve is not made to be under 12 v every time and will probabely burn quickly

Europe does yearly inspections on their vehicles and you have to take them in to get inspected, they check brakes, position of lights, for any leaks, exhaust leaks, defects in the body of the vehicle, and if I remember right they hook up a machine to the exhaust to check emissions, I left Germany in 04 and I have a crappy memory lol.

Yes for cars, it s call "contrôle technique" , but this law is not yet available for bikes...
And it s why i don t want to do not reversible things on my fury !
This switch for pair valve was ā good idea but i test the valve with continu 12v, and it s become very hot after few minutes, so i think, this solenoid valve is not made to be on 12 v permanently :-(
