Help with exhaust
I just purchased a new 2011 red metalic fury and love this beast. I have just changed mirrors, have a mod tail light comming on its way and installed a swing arm bag. The big thing I hate hate hate the stock exhaust and been looking around. I like the look of the cobra swept pipes but looking at either the Vance and Hines slip ons or cobra slip ons. Any feed back would be great on either pipes. I was leaning toward the Vance and Hines and might be able to talk the wife into letting me get those but are they loud and rumble? If I went that route and removed the baffles would it cause damage due to lack of back pressure? Will I need a fuel processor? Thanks and hope to here some feed back since I am new to the site and new fury owner. Oh and yes I have a wife who was not totally on board getting the bike so I have to keep spending down low, nothing a few cheaper items can't slip past her, lol.

Hey there, I'm new to the board too & have a wife like yours, lol. Initially,
Initially, I drilled my stock exhaust to 1/2". Look in the open in the back with a flash light. You'll see 2 little holes restricting sound. Bought a long drill bit from Walmart for $9. Since I must've done something good, my wife bought me a Freedom Pref curved. I haven't received it yet, but I also bought a Cobra Fi2000.
A guy I know put in the V&H slips and he's says he gets the pops during hard deceleration.he says he isn't annoyed by it yet so he hasn't bought a fuel computer.
A full exhaust like Road Burner is on eBay in the $300's. IMO, better alternative to slipons and the stock smaller headers.

You shouldn't need a fuel processor when adding just the slip on. If you start changing the air intake then you may want to consider installing a cobra power pro to adjust for the fuel/air mixture. As far as the popping sounds on deceleration, most of this can be cured by removing the pair valve. (check old threads for removal)

I have drill the exhaust on my last bike and never cared for the sound and hate to damage this exhaust. I saw the pipes on eBay and I heard they will fit the fury my concern with those is if any modding needs done to get them to fit and if they have heat shields, don't want the pipes to blue. The Video I hear of the Vance and Hines slip ons sound good. I was wondering if the popping people hear hurts the bike.

I don't think it is going to damage the bike but the noise does get irritating after a while.

I've just got my fury recently which came with V&H pipes. Yes I can confirm that they do pop on deceleration and will take a look at the thread for the pair valve removal. I do however like the deep loud rumble they give and very pleased with them.

Hammy. I had the D&D drag slip ons and suffered the pop and occasional backfire. Removed the pair valve system and cured it. Look here for what you need. If you do it you need the plates with the dimples.
VTX-Parts 1300 & 1800 Honda VTX Custom Motorcycle Parts, Pair Valve Covers, Radiator Grill Covers, Exhaust System Covers, Reed Valve Covers, Polished Stainless Steel, Polished Aluminum, Chrome
I tried to upload a PDF how to but the file is too large. If you need it Pm me with a E-Mail address.
