Pair Control Solenoid Valve

I am installing the AutoTune module on my PCV.

The directions say to:

Make sure the clean air system is blocked (if applicable). Also called the
PAIR valve, the clean air system draws fresh air out of the air box and
dumps into into the exhaust port to help ignite any unburnt fuel in the
exhaust. This extra air will skew the AFR readings of the Auto tune
module.

Air is blocked when it powered and air flows when it is not powered. For this reason you can not just disconnect the valve to turn it off because that actually turns it on.

I was wondering if capping or plugging the air suction hose at the air intake would be OK. Everything would work as advertised but there would not be any airflow.

Does this sound correct or am I missing something?

That is the quick and dirty way to do it, may cause problems down the road tho, check here Secondary Air System see the link for Biglrys mod for the VTX, basically the same thing. If your going to the trouble and expense of the auto tune, you may as well do the desmog right.

Here is another post that should help. Plugging the system should work but if you develop a leak downstream from the plug it will throw off your O2 reading. As Clueless says it's best to get your exposure minimized and cap it off downstream at the last externally accessible point which is at the PAIR valves on each of the cylinder heads.
Please keep us updated with the results of your AutoTune installation combined with the Samsom Warlord II Slashers with a D&M Spear Twister Intake. There are other members who are considering the AutoTune but to my knowledge you may be the first to get it done. If I recall Stonewheel has the Cobras with a PCV and is planning to install the AutoTune this winter.

Thanks for your replies.

I am going to completely remove the PAIR system once I receive the block off plates I ordered.

I was not going to remove the EVAP canister because it did not affect me until I went to change the oil the other day. With it installed it made it hard to remove the oil filter. It was a very simple process and all you need is a 1/8 vacuum line plug.

The only question I have is how is the fuel tank breather hose routed on non-california models? The service manual is not clear but it looks like it just runs down to the lower frame and hangs there. I just want to make sure there is not a breather or valve attached on the end of the hose.
