I use Shell mineral motorcycle oil 15w 40 in all my bikes and change it every 3000 KLM. (1864 Mi). Never had a problem.

Mobil 4T 10w40. Here's the link to the Mobil site.

Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40

Everyone has their own favorite oil. All my vehicles use Mobil 1 Full Syn. Even the Harley Syn oils were Mobil 1. However, I only use motorcycle oils in the motorcycle as you need the additve .

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to switch on my next oil change. Ive heard a lot of good things on the synthetic and I have been using it in my cars for about a year now.

Check that the fully synthetic oil is OK to use on the bike first. Fully synthetic oils can cause the clutch to slip in wet clutch set ups like the Fury. I think Honda only listed mineral and semi synthetic oils in the owners manual.

As far as I know the the more synthetic an oil is, basically extends just the oil life (yes there are all sorts of other things like friction modifiers and extended heat ranges). So if you change your oil frequently you can pretty much use any oil of the correct weight. Changing the oil more often extends the life of the engine a lot more than using an expensive synthetic or racing oil.

The main thing is to change the oil frequently, which ever oil you use. My personal schedule is oil every 3000 KLM and the filter every other oil change or 6000 KLM.

Fyi guys, for quick reference... As 3000 km = 1864.113 mi... & 6000 km = 3728.227 mi...

Yea, that sounds about right if you change it often... that is really frequent though, especially for a cruiser bike. Are you running it really hard or just want to make sure you dot all the i's and cross all the t's as far as bike maintenance is concerened? Usually it's about 6000 km for the oil change then 12000 km for oil change and filter...

I don’t know much about the subject, but my shop told me it would be better if I put 6-8k miles on the bike before using a synthetic. Not sure why. I just went with whatever Honda recommended at my last oil change.
