Default Be Careful RT Turns with Cobra Swept Pipes!

If you lean to far into a right hand curve the pipe hits the ground before the foot peg feeler does!

Found that out yesterday.

Called Cobra and asked if they were aware of that and they said "No, and it's $178.95 plus shipping to replace the chrome cover."
No, "We're sorry we designed a pipe that hits before the peg and we will replace the cover" or even offer a discount for replacement, NOTHING but "Good Luck and don't lean it so far".

Thanks Cobra!

You can see the peg feeler has no marks.

Doug

I was on a clover leaf getting off a highway, surprised me that the pipe hit first!

Machine....That sux........

I just had my Swepts installed yesterday. What's the "fix" in your opinion? Shall we "extend" the peg a tad (pretty easy to do I think) so it scrapes first? Just a thought.

Tighten-up your rear suspension spring and lose about 50 pounds! LOL. Just kiddin', Jimmy.

Cheers

I have the accutroxix forward controls which are raised higher than stock (allowing MORE lean) and I only managed to rub the lower rear tip of the cobra but it wasn't noticable. I've never rubbed where you did and this is my first NON sportsbike where I leaned till my knee rubbed so this is odd. I'll keep my eye on it next week when we here MAY be able to ride again.

Either enough of us complain to Cobra about pipes hitting and they fix the problem or yea extend the peg feeler. Not sure how much it would need, all depends on how far the suspension is compressed in a corner. Maybe half inch or maybe more. We need some people to do some testing.

It all depends on how much the suspension is compressed in the corner. The cloverleaf I was on was a uphill turn so it was probably compressed a good bit.
Also depends if it's off-camber also. There's a lot of variables.
