Cobra PowerFlo installed
So....I finally received the Cobra PowerFlo and installed it post haste. I have always had Hondas so I have metric tools. I counted the hardware and I am pleased to say, had everything it was supposed to have. The write-ups from other forum members were very helpful (thank you) and did not have any real problems. Got a chance to test it today. I had been having a few backfires on decel with just the Viper 2 exhaust. I tried very hard to get the bike to backfire with the PowerFlo and could not. Viper 2, PowerFlo and Fuggin FC set on factory settings........works great. I can really hear the intake pulling the air and it looks good.
Mental.....all hardware present and accounted for and the filter is red.
PS.....of course it's black.....silly.

I would suggest a dyno for your bike, as mine was also running just fine. But during the dyno results came up that it was running lean.
That will damage your engine in the long run.

I was looking at Cobra's instructions on their website. Do you really have to detach the two rubber hoses and remove the throttle body adaptor to install this intake? It looks to me like you could assemble the fuel injector cover and the support bracket to the mounting plate and then mount the velocity stack, mounting plate and throttle spacer to the throttle body adaptor along with mounting the support bracket between the cylinders followed by the filter, screen and cover.
I heard that there is very little room between the intake and the rear chrome plastic spark plug cover. Can you get the cover off without removing the intake or is the fit really that tight?
Thanks
GARY

Thanks Serge. I would love to dyno it but around here I don't have a clue where to find one so I'll wait until I can locate one.

Gary: You can put it on without taking the hoses off but it is a tight fit and putting everything together off the bike is much easier and safer imo. I removed the rear spark plug cover before I started and replaced it after I finished so it can be done that way but it is a tight fit and again.....take your time and cover things with towels.

Glad you had no issues, mine is running fine also, I have the cobra street sweeper pipes, and the FI2000, went up 1 on each off thepot settings and it ran rough,,put them back to default and runs great. And yes it pulls some air, i think it sounds kewl

Sorry CB, I sent out PMs to several people about your excellent tutorial write up, insted of posting since I am off line., and I am sure it helped them, and I am sure it took some time to put it together. So PROPS to you! That is an excellent piece of work.
