Metzeler's spec on the 240 is 239 mm on a 8½" rim. Pinched in to 7" you loose about ¾" or 19 mm of tire width. Should be similar to a 220 on a correct rim.
The stock fury rubber measures 8" and the Sumo-X measures 10" as far as I know. I would expect the M240 on a 7" rim to measure 8⅔" - 9".

For what it's worth from the manufacturers' websites:
The D250 measures 10" wide on an 8½" rim.
The M240 measures 9.4" wide on an 8½" rim.

Eyeballing can trick you. A big fender makes a tire look smaller so visual comparisons need two of the same bike with only the tire different. Apples to Apples.

I cant believe im dropping some serious cash to gain an inch! LOL But with my Tmod i believe that inch will fill in the rear to the max making it look like a 250. We shall see.
