price for mounting a tire.
Now, as most know im in the process of replacing the front tire. I cut it off myself saving $40 cause i just dont understand why it would cost so much. The same shop ( local Yamaha, Victory 7 Can Am ) quoted me $30 to mount; not balance, the front and $50 for the rear. My rear which is going to be the Kosman in about a month with a 240.
Now i hit the local Honda STEALERSHIP last night on the way home just to see. My thinking was that to just mount a tire on a wheel AND that is was a Honda wheel it should be around $20. I mean, if you go to YouTube and watch how a motorcycle tire is mounted there really isnt anything to it. Its exactly how you mount car tires! If you do it on a regular basis, it should only take 5 minutes max. Remember, no balancing.
So i walk in and ask how much ... and was told $98! You read right ... $98 mother lovin dollars! I looked the tech right in the eye and said " Youre out of your God damned mind! I didnt pay that much for the tire! " Hearing this he asked if they were lose? " Yes, they are both in the back seat of my car. " Well, he then states proudly that instead of $98 it would be $50! What they hell are these guys thinking?
This is the same STEALERSHIP that sold my original blue Fury out from under me a couple years ago. Nothing short of pure asshats!

AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Needless to say, the Yamaha shop down the street has my business from now on.

Heck, at those prices, after 2 sets of tires you could almost pay for a Cycle Hill tire changer.

do you have a Cycle Gear store near you? If memory serves my local CG was charging like $15 per tire, but it's been a long time so I may be wrong on that.

Dynabeads all the way, best $20 I spent, now I don't have those ugly weights on the outside of the tire.
