Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the engine is powder coated right? If so for it to be done right they would have to pull the engine and have the parts re powder coated. why not just replace them?

Looks like maybe the parts went through the tsunami or meltdown before assembly!

Yeah that does look like crap, but to tell the truth I wouldn't go through the hassle of trying to find someone to fix it I would just find someone to paint the engine black, if the dealership is footing the bill for it might as well do an upgrade like that instead of trying to get it back to grey, especially if you can find a shop that would do it for the same price as what they would charge for gray.

The other parts and pieces that can't be painted I would get the dealership to replace them, unless you wanted to try and fix it yourself which would be to use something like a scotchbright pad and either rattle can paint or touch up paint.

They should have based it orange and then used a flattening agent in the clear coat. Florencefury saw pics of his parts right after i cleared them and decided to go gloss. THe orange really jumps out with a mirror shine! Any good body shop should be able to match up the color, clear it and buff your tank and fenders to a shine. I'm not sure what your looking for as of an estimate??? Are you wanting the fenders and tank sprayed or the entire frame as well???

If your engine needs to be repainted I would go ahead scuff it and shoot it black. Below is a pic after I did Florencefurys engine. The black engine on the orange bike looks Killer! Feel free to PM or email me with any other questions.
I love that paint job. That's exactly what I was thinking about doing with mine.

Would painting it black void the warranty? I purchased the extended 5 year warranty also.

I think the whole bike should be replaced.
