I think it's all semantics Thrifty...a republic is a represented democracy. But I think he was alluding to two separate things, America and democracy itself. Either way, we aren't a dictatorship (unbeknownst to Obama).

To me, the Fury Nation is an association of Riders who love to ride a bad ass Metric Chopper. Still, there are some narrow-minded people who are offended by any and everything. Our association(Combat Vet's) doesn't sanction wearing our patch around MC's. we do (as a courtesy) touch base with those clubs in an area where we have meetings or plan to do a charity rides. Being Veteran's most Clubs respect the sacrifices of those who served, serve and sacrifice for EVERYONE's Rite/Right to ride free.
I'm proud of the Fury nation, my Honda, and wear my Fury Nation Patch as a badge of Honor. I am intelligent enough to not lose my life or be injured by some narrow-minded person (SOB). My advice, when in doubt, check it out and ride with friends.
These are not Colors, it is a patch showing the sacrifices of those who have and are serving.
Black = Those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and the families who morn their loss.
Red = The Blood shed for our freedom.
Gold = The diversity of all the branches of the armed forces; Race, uniforms, etc Ride Safe!!!

Also, I am not afraid of some paperwork. I haven't shot anyone yet, because I haven't had to. I can and will protect myself if I am attacked by a group. I know the law and my department's rules. There are ways to avoid an argument, such as leaving the area, but I thought the scenario was that a person was forced to pull over or approached in such a was that leaving was not an option.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but there were some ignorant comments here. Like any other profession, there are good cops and bad cops. Fortunately, most of the bad ones get caught eventually and I'm not sorry to see them go. Not everyone wants or needs our protection, but there are many who do. I will gladly help those who want my help and arrest those who need arresting.

Mjwojo, I'm retired from the job myself. The anti-cop sentiment amazes me considering the actual rare bad cop out there. I still carry a 40 cal and will protect myself if needed, won't be the first person I have had to kill.
