This video shows a bike hitting about 50mph is a 35mph (posted) curve. You can see how the tire keeps a lot of tread on the ground. In fact, if measured, I would be willing to bet that there is more tread on the ground with the CT vs the MT

For those interested, but still have questions, you should check out the Darkside forum. There are plenty of great guys/gals on all types of bikes. You can join, ask question, do your research and all. I joined back in 2008 and went Darkside back in 2009 and never looked back. I just found that a guy in LA has indeed put a CT on his Fury and I'm trying to get some information from others as to what the best tire is. Here's the link:

Hey Onei, that is me on the darkside forum. I go by Dark Fury over there. :-)

This is my current tire. I have 17,000 miles on it and put it on my fury on Sept of last year. I like to ride. :-)




I figure I still have a lot more miles to go.

Does anyone know if there has been a scientific study on the effects of using a CT? I'm curious about whether the compression of the sidewalls shortens the life of the tire or weakens it. Also, as many have questioned, how does the surface contact area really compare and does it change the coefficient of friction when cornering hard? There is a lot of anecdotal evidence here, but how about some actual testing with measurements of rate of wear and sidewall integrity.
