Default Clutch stuck?

Hey now! Has anyone had problems with your clutch stuck in neutral or wont down shift into first? I do have the Accutronix forwards.

How did you fix this?

You're not talking about the 'oh oh didn't shift in time and now I can't get into 1st' issue all big tooth gears experience are you?

With your foot on the shifter, get some small rpms, gently release the clutch so it just starts to grip. Should mesh and clunk down to 1st.

I see new Harley riders on the side of the road all the time perplexed by this.

Kiwi,

Thank you for responding. I thought my clutch needed adjusting.

So if you are stopped at a red light are you in first or neutral?

OK, please tell me if I'm wrong.
If I'm going to be a short time at a stop light, I keep it in first and hold in the clutch.
If I'm going to be at a stop light for a while, I put into neutral and let go of the clutch.
Or is this personal preference??

for saftey reasons i ALWAYS sit at a light with it in gear and hold the clutch
in .. just in case someone comes up behind and forgets to stop
you can react and pull off faster than having to shift in to gear and then pull
off to aviod being hit from behind....

that is exactly what they teach in the safety classes, always be ready to move...................t

I always keep it in first at the lites......But, sometimes, when the lites yellow and I stop, I put it in neutral to shake the numbness out of my hand while I got the chance.

I do exactly this, but only after the line of cars behind me has already formed. If I'm alone at a light, I'm always ready to move.
