Matte Silver Paint Question - Possible Color Change

So the guys that is going to repair my dented tank has expressed some concerns about repainting Matte Silver. He said his concerns are based on the documentation from Colorrite and his overall experience with matte colors. I trust this guy. He's done excellent work for me over the years and has a good reputation painting HDs. Has anyone else experienced a problems with painting matte silver?

Also, changing the color isn't much more than just fixing the tank. What color should I go with if I decide to change?

I can tell you that I used Colorite for my side covers and it matches perfectly!

There are some painters on here who can chime in but my matte silver was a total rebuild ! I used colorite and it was a close match and I also had someone scan my paint and that worked as well but definitely use a flat clear.

I can't speak to the matte silver, but a couple months back, I sent off a fender to L&M so they could match the matte orange, and it was a lot more involved than anticipated.

Last year I was a dipshit and jimmy rigged some bags on my bike without thinking of them rubbing the paint off. I did some massive damage to my fender then got some of the colorite paint and matched it perfect.
