hopefully my pictures came up. this is my first time posting pictures. just wanted to show a cheap way to make your rear turn signals look a little better. what you guys think?
i installed the custom dynamics leds with the brake, running light and turn signal. but the cheap install was to remove the black arm holding the turn signal head. i removed the turn signal, removed the black arm and drilled a hole though the metal bulb holder and installed a longer bolt with nut from the fender all way to the metal holder.
i removed the turn signal and cut the wiring then removed the black rubber. reinstalled the turn signal and then resolder the wiring and insulate with heat shrink. sounds more complicated then it seems. i wish i would of taken a picture when i had it out. when you have the turn signal out. look into the hole and drill a hole right in the middle of the metal bracket. then reinstall with a longer bolt and nut.
yeah they sit approx and inch and a half closer. also makes your rear wheel seem wider for some reason. about cutting the rubber. well you couldnt because the rubber has to bolt on to the fender and holds the turn signal housing. thats why i had to drill a hole on the metal bulb holder and resecure with a longer bolt. if you take your yellow reflector out. you will see the bulb and a metal bulb holder. take the two screws out holding the bulb holder to the turn signal housing. that releases the turn signal housing from the black rubber piece. then you would reinstall the holder and look into the hole were the black rubber was and drill a hole right in the middle. reinstall with a longer bolt and nut.
when you remove the bulb holders just pull the rubber pieces off. the bulb holder also holds the rubber piece. its a little hard to pull out but just twist and pull. as far as the housing or the tail light did not do anything. just drill a hole on the bulb holder and install bolt. i used a bolt the same size as the original one holding the rubber piece but a little longer approx 1 inch long. when you install it make sure the bolt is not to long because it will hit the bulb when installed. hope it helps.
