Default I Need Help!

After returning from a charity ride today, I pull into my garage and notice I have fluid leaking from my front fork where my L&M 3 inch extensions are screwed in (just on one side). I was one of the first people to have these installed and have had no problems up until this point. Can someone maybe explain to me what is going on and how I might be able to fix it?

I have the same problem. What i thought was a bug splat the right side of the tank, turns out it was blow back from the right fork. Now to compound the problem, i have the L&M axel nut covers on, which means i cant break down the front forks to figure it out.

My plan of attack .... to loosen the bolts on the lower tree but not the top. Grab some sticky palm gloves or a strap wrench and see if the fork will twist. If not, then ill just have to continue to watch and clean up after it. Thus far, i have wiped down the top of the fork tube twice cleaning up approximately enough fluid to covers 2 postage stamps.

Sorry to here the news.
Thats hydraulic oil right? Wont that eat the finish on the clear coat?? I would fix it asap If you hit a massive pot hole that fork could bottom out right/ oil will purge???

Be safe!

This would be the first thing I would do, also verify with the installer of the 8* trees that they put in the o-ring. also ask if they put a light coat of oil on the o-ring during install

Same issue here. I noticed it yesterday. Does this require replacement? There was not that much fluid, it is possible they put too much on when they applied some to the O-ring during re-assembly?

when you go and put the Fat Fork covers on take off the extenders and check your o-rings for possible damage, if there is I would replace them, I would almost go ahead and replace them anyway Pete they are not expensive. The light coat of oil is to help protect them from the threading during install. Make sure you have them good and tight also. To much? I doubt it, you would have noticed it right away.

I had this same problem. Took the extensions off to discover no O rings lol. I dont know how i did not notice them missing when i assembled the front end, but once i installed them problem solved.

Pull the extensions, make sure the O rings are in place, or replace them if they are. Should solve the issue.

Got the same problem....less than 500 miles since install. 1st, the right, then yesterday the left.

RSS has told me to A. use the orings from the OEM caps and B. he used some teflon tape on the threads for added insurance.

My plan of attack: remove front brake caliper, loosen pinch bolts on top and bottom trees and try to slide whole front end down at one time. Then tighten lower bolts so I can unscrew tops and replace O-rings.

Have reported problem with the leak to L&M....
