New Mods Installed

Today I installed some mods. It took me the entire day to do it all, mostly because I'm a dummy, plus 3 different trips to Lowes for various things. Part costs listed for people who are curios.

-C&C SportTour Seat - $257
-Custom Dynamics Rear LED Array - $155
-Accutronix Side Mount License Plate - $80
-Kuryakyn 1432 Turn Signal Mirrors - $165

Will'sFury and BananaRay like this.

Looks good....I am curious why your turn signals in the rear stay on?

I have an idea why, but I will not assume anything.

Great observation. I was so tired after doing the work I didn't notice it.

I found the problem and fixed it.

The problem was, for some reason the running lights on the Kury turn signal mirrors only worked if I spliced the running lights and turn signals together. I hadn't considered that doing that would create a circuit that also causes the rear turns to stay on when the running lights are on.

It looks like I just won't be able to use the mirrors as running lights. I removed the running lights from the front splice and now the rear is working.

That was my assumption but you know what assuming does... Lol

If you want to use the mirrors as running lights just install a diode inline to stop the current from back feeding to your rear signals.

My electrical knowledge is poor and I'm a visual learner. Any way to share a visual with me of what this would look like?

Here is a link to a wesite that should help you out:

Rear Running Lights Mod Bareass Choppers Motorcycle Tech Pages

Just pay attention to the schematic showing how a diode works.

The diode will have a stripe at one end, you would install the diode on your front turn signal wire with the stripe towards your mirrors turn signal. A diode will only allow electricity to flow in one direction, kinda like a check valve on an air line, so it will allow the power to flow from your flasher to your mirror signal but WON'T allow the parking lights power to backfeed to the rear signal. You would need one diode per side.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, this will be invaluable if I decide to do it.

I'm on the fence, I can't decide if I want running lights or not. What's some opinions on them?

Personally I am of the mind set that the light that gets the most attention is the light that wasn't there (or seen) before, be it turn signals or brake lights.
