Sounds like a government run bailout dealership. I've told one of my good crew chief friends about a concern I had for one of the forced air cooling fans on our jet that you could feel vibrating at the back of the jet through your feet. He told me to let him know when it failed. My reply was "You'll hear about it on the radio when we have to cancel our mission because the fan died." 3 flights later it failed and we came back early.

I hear this noise occasionally but I'm pretty sure it's only when I shut it off while still in gear (which is not my habit). Do you normally shut her down while in gear? If so, maybe you can try it in neutral to see what happens?

Yeah their service reputation within the group I meet with is not real good. I mean the work they do is ok but their tactics for customers concerns and they way they try to talk you into unnecessary services is piss poor.

This dealership just went through a terrible tragedy about 6 months ago so I kinda chalk some of this up to that.. The owner, his wife and 9 yr old son all died in a private plane crash in the mountains. It left the dealership in total confusion for weeks and just now, 6-7 months later they're reorganizing and getting back on their feet.

I talked to the new general manager Friday and told him how I feel about service and he said they are presently interviewing 4 new service managers to get the service department back.. He was well aware of the problems.

So I'll just hope I don't have any serious problem lol

That is a very good point Cypress however I always shift to neutral, let the clutch out and reach down to the key and turn it off. I don't think I've ever shut it off in gear.
I'm gonna shut it down in gear and see if it still does it next couple times I ride her. See if it makes any difference.

We'll fix it when whatever it is fails"

The motorcycle does not have a bendix like you are familiar with, the starter motor is attached to a torque limiter, that turns an idler, to the starter gear at the flywheel, thru the clutch to spin the flywheel. Mine does it, but I never noticed it till I read this thread.
We frequently hear the constantly engaged starter gear-train back-wheeling through the one way clutch when the engine rotation stops and bounces back with the resistance of the next compression stroke. Theoretically, the starter can actually spin backwards a bit more than the engine due to it's own momentum and again, the one-way clutch. When manually pushing the Fury backwards in gear (5th is easiest) you can hear that sound of the starter turning.
