My time with the Honda Fury recently came to a close. I sold it and got a different bike. I loved the Fury, but it just couldn't keep up with the bigger bikes in our local club. The 5 speed, engine displacement size, and fuel tank size just couldn't cut it any longer.
It was a great bike for urban riding tho. I considered keeping it but I already have two bikes. Another would just end up sitting in the garage.
I ended up getting a 2015 Victory Highball. I am enjoying it so far.
I still plan on lurking around this forum from time to time. So you might see me post here and there.
Ride safe everyone. Keep the rubber on the pavement.
I actually sold it to a dealership on trade. But according to them, it was about $7000 Canadian dollars. The bike had about 12000 kilometres on it. 2011 model year.
As long as you are happy. For myself, I got the re-flash, and the only people in front of me now are the ones I let be there. By the time I need gas, I am ready for a small break.
But then I don't really like riding with others, so in the end it doesn't matter. I am quite happy. You gotta be happy with your ride.

Surprised you had issues keeping up, unless they r barreling down the highway over 100mph, the Fury is plenty fast enough. With intake, pipes and f/c, I raced a friend on his Magna 750 (a low 12 sec bike) and had no issues keeping up till we let off around 80ish..
It wasn't a problem keeping up unless they wanted to run... then I'd eat dust. When I bought my Fury, our group all rode metrics... I actually owned the biggest bike at 1300CC. Now they all run 103CI or 106CI HD's. Bigger fuel tanks. 6th gear.
It was just time to move up the CC ladder I guess.
Personally I don't give a stuff if the guys I'm riding with zoom off as I ride at the speed I want to ride. Then again I choose my riding buddies carefully and none of them do that kind of thing. I also never buy a bike for the "group", I always buy what I like and can afford.
The Victorys and Indians are good bikes so you should be happy with your new ride.
Everyone has their reasons for moving on to whatever model they so choose to ride. One of the many reasons for HD I keep hearing is - 'other makes feel too electric.' Which is understandable, seeing as how HD designs their bikes to be loud and shake violently, which usually ends up breaking stuff.
While Victory and Indian compete directly with HD, they come nowhere near being similar in that regard. That, and Victory has nowhere near the marketing power of HD. Lot's of people buy a HD, just to say they ride a HD.
Polaris, who already owns Indian, bought Victory Motorcycles. Now they had two ponies in their stable so similar, they were competing against each other. So they killed off Victory. Not sure when they close up dealerships, but will be soon. Polaris said they would honor the warranties for ten years and keep making OEM parts but I doubt their promises.
I was looking at a Highball, but went instead with the Fury.
Since when did a 1300cc motorcycle become to slow to keep up? Keep up with what? A dragster, a super bike on a closed circuit? Or maybe the bikes at Island of Man TT Race? On what road do you ride on? My smallest bike for the street most recent was a Yamaha XT225 and on the highways conditions permitting I would ring its neck and run at 85 mph flat out. My first cruiser was a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 and HD 93 or 103 or 193 or metric did not make any difference. Most of the time conditions only permitted 80 to 85 mph. I could easily take the bike to 105 mph so someone would have to go faster to get away from me, but where? And for how long? On my stock Fury I can keep up with anyone riding NOT racing I have taken it to 100 mph with no problem, with a REFLASH I can probably get there much faster. BTW Victory specs. the Highball at 106 mph top speed, really that is what it takes to keep up with HD ? Most of the time I will out run them, out brake them, out maneuver them without even trying no matter what motorcycle I am riding. I think everyone should buy and ride what makes them happy, after all that why we do it. But be true to yourself do not let other's behavior influence your choices.
Even if it's more of a 'I'm the only one without a Harley' and no other believed performance problems, just get what makes you happy and keep riding. That's all that really matters. We'll still love you.
