Headlight Suggestions

Good morning,

Has anyone tried changing their headlight for one of the Daymaker lights? is it worth it?

I'm also looking into changing the headlight housing for a matte black one. What size is the stock one? 6.5"? 7"?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

The search button is your friend.

The stock headlight is approximately 5.25" but a standard size 5.75" can be made to work in the stock bucket.

It can be done...

You can fit a daymaker in our headlight housing with minor modifications. I bought a cheap'o 5.75" daymaker off amazon for $55 shipped. Then bought some foam weather stripping from Lowes for $3.99. The foam weather stripping has adhesive one on side so it's literally cut to length and wrap. Fits snug and I have been riding it for about 2 weeks with no issues. Much brighter than stock. You will lose horizontal beam adjustment but it does not matter as long as you can adjust the vertical.

The stock bracket can be made to fit but I did not want to bend stock retainer ring.

Can you elaborate on what needed to be bent on the stock retainer ring?

Garage
Do these run hot? Too hot for the bucket space? There's a lot of wires hemmed in there.

Because I'm going for an "All black" look. I was thinking about changing the housing too, and getting a Day Maker LED that would fit in the housing.

How bow dah? :-)

Just an FYI in case you over looked it.... That is a 7" headlight... Nothing wrong with that per say, but it may look disproportionate and make the trees look narrow or small since it is a bigger light than stock.
