Could have been me.
I spent the night in Beckley, WVA on Monday.
Tuesday morning I traveled down US77 and stopped for gas in the area.
I was traveling from NY on my way back to Florida.
Actually, I travelled from Florida to the West Coast through the southern states, North to Canada, East through the Northern states to NY and then south to Florida. Arrived home Wednesday evening after a 4 weeks on the road.

Diesel,

Any interesting observations or tidbits on the fury or your trip? I'd be interested.

OK, I will give you the basics - if you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Total Miles - 8,154
Days - 34
Avg. MPG - 46.2

I have the Samson Exhaust
Corbin seat with backrest (to hold the bag) - I obviously have not tried every seat on the market in my 40 years of riding, however, I can tell you this is the most comfortable seat I have ever had. Even on a 721 mile day, there was never a sore moment.
No other Modifications
Bike ran fine with no problems with the exception of getting crap gas in OK, which turned out to be 83 Octane with 10% ethanol. Bike would not run over 55MPH. Changed to 93 Octane until the problem dissipated. Returned to 87 Octane for the remainder of the trip with no further issues.
I ran with three HD baggers, and one a new 103CI. Never had a problem accelerating or keeping up. On major highways we averaged 80mph, on occasion, we hit 100mph, but not often. Bottom line is the Fury will do everything a HD will do. I did however have to stop for gas about every 120 to 140 miles (dependent on the terrain and speed)
Hope this helps

Diesel, I made the trip across country last year on my Fury. I wrote a thread about it and have some pics on my profile. I had a great trip. I plan on riding from here in CA to South Carolina early next year. We are moving there so I plan on riding to our new home just outside of Gaffney SC.
