Default ABS model rake question

Is anyone on here with the ABS model that has raked the bike to 8-degrees?

If so, did you have to change the brake lines or the stock ones were long enough for the rake?

I'm asking, because I want to rake the bike and been inquiring into it and went to my local dealer where I bought the bike from to ask them about it to see if they will do it, and they told me that they'll do the labor, but that I most provide the parts and they actually encouraged me to stay away from raking my bike, because being an ABS model, the longer lines were going to be a problem to find, being that they are different from the regular Furies and that the ABS sensor would most likely start giving me problems.

I also spoke to Chris from Low & Mean about this issue, and he told me that he wasn't really familiar with Furies in general, so that he couldn't give me in the right direction.

I really want to rake the Fury, but after encountering these comments, I'm wondering if raking an ABS Fury model is possible at all....

Can anyone share some input on this matter?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Roger

This is bad advice. Yes you need a longer brake line. Some have done the 8 degree trees with 3" fork extenders using the stock brake line but it's tight and probably not safe. MTL customs has a brake line kit that I purchased through Low and Mean which brings us to the next questionable bit of advice.

Are you sure it was Chris you spoke with? Look at all the installation videos on Low and Mean's website and review their posts on this forum and you'll see that they are quite familiar with the Fury.

The 8 degree trees work just fine on the ABS model and the MTL customs brake line kit cleans up the mess under the tank nicely. I would not hesitate to do this mod.

Fury_guy from Western Australia has 8 deg trees ( we only get the ABS model here in Oz) and there was no problems but he did get extended lines.

3" extenders only on an ABS is ok with the standard lines, if you want to go that way.

Thanks guys for the input.

I guess I have to take all of the options at hand in consideration in order to make a decision.

It sounds like the safe and smart thing to do is to get the extended lines.....
