Default Riser Concerns

I got a set of cannella risers and after reading the instructions it says they are for show and disply only, not DOT aproved. My question is how safe are they to put on the bike? does anyone make a DOT aproved riser?
Regards,
Dewking

There fine. I don't think any risers are DOT APPROVED. It's not that they are made cheap. My guess would be that it's not dot approved because it is separating the bars from the trees and now the bars are not a single solid piece. thats my guess anyway.
don't worry about it or read into it much. They are safe.

Is there any thing safe about riding? Just do what ever makes you feel good. And if that mean adding 1.5" risers just do it but make sure there installed right and ....tight! And you'll be fine. You have more to be worried about than what kind of risers you put on your bike. Your chances of getting clipped by a cagger are a thousand times greater thn a riser failer! Lol Ride safe an have with it make it your own! just be safe bro!

It sounds like "legal-eze" to me. I guarantee you will love those risers. My bike came with a set already installed by the dealer. Your back and arms will thank you later.

Cool

More than likely costs big bucks to get DOT approval & testing so companies need tocover their asses!

You made an excellent purchase. Just install the risers , torque them down to specs (41 I believe) and enjoy one of the best mods for the Fury. Don't dwell on the DOT approval and the disclaimers aftermarket vendors have to make. Don't think you will find many, or any, aftermarket products for motorcycles that have DOT approval.........
