YES the ceramic coating on the cobra"s are thin! Mine are bad so I have to have them redone. I found out I don"t scrape the tips on bends, I scrape in mid pipe. I noticed this when I put them back on. Scrapped and rusted

Nope never said you was stupid, people do tend to make mistakes and call something other than what it is so I just wanted to make sure that was you was saying was in fact what you meant. It's your scoot so you can do what you want but I still have my doubts about powder coating an exhaust, it's not a matter of if it can be done, but a matter of how long it's going to last and melt off.

From what i habe been told by my uncle who powdercoats stuff for me, and has been doing it for a long time now, is that the powdercoat will not hold up over time of being heated so high and cooled over and over again. There is a powdercoat that can be used, but he said it has to be baked on at a higher than normal temp (if i remember right) however.

That's good to hear, at least their is a powder coat that can be used for hi-temp applications, might have to check into that for my exhaust as I have blued/bronzed mine and even accidentally hit the hot exhaust with a microfiber towel when wiping down the bike (yeah stupid mistake).

seems like MFr would have an opinion on this. He makes the best pipes i've ever seen.
