Little deeper would be best, not higher as it would start hitting handlebars and speedo's if not done right.
Still a fan of the original tank though, that is why the add-on would be the best preference as it is an aftermarket tank that is meant to be just an add-on. If L&M could pull off a new bigger tank though with the same lines, that would be interesting.
