Default First time rider out of Indiana buying a fury

Whats up everybody, mine name is Kevin. I've always had a thing for older muscle cars and own 2 chevelles but could always see myself on a bike. I've been debating it for years because I was scared of other drivers but since I'm turning 33 next month, have no kids and haven't found the right woman for me to marry yet that I thought now's the time. I looked at Harleys, Victorys, and Hondas and the only bike that I felt was my style was the fury. Found a dealer who had 6 in stock, 3 2010s and 3 2011s and they happened to have the 2010 matte silver I liked brand new. So I'm planning on dropping the check friday and can't wait to ride it in the spring. I'm a mechanic and am looking forward to what I can do with this bike to make it stand out more then it already does.

Welcome to the Forum Kevin. We were all first time riders once upon a time. You have made a good selection in choosing the Fury. Be sure to take the Motorcycle Safety Course and practice a lot. Fury's handle a little different than those Chevelles!! Also, don't worry about the women. The Fury will be much cheaper, and a lot more fun, in the long run. Take care and be safe....

Default Welcome

Welcome Kevin from Indiana,

Do as I was told in the beginning... Read the "Fury FAQ" it will help you tremendously.

Look forward to seeing your new bike.

Remember, "Pics are the only proof... no pics, it didn't happen."

Also, Remove your reflectors before the FRP's (Forum Reflector Police) catch ya.

Welcome to the forum!

If I would be you, I would get 2011 Fury, they have an anti-lock brakes. It's better for the first time rider.

Good luck Kevin with the new bike. Much like you, I was on the fence with a beautiful black and blue Screamin Eagle and a drop dead gorgeous Victory but, once I sat on a Fury and looked down a long beautiful tank it was all over. Smiley, from Evansville, IN

Congrats and welcome! And, not only do we need/want to see pics of the Fury, but pics of the 'Velles would be nice too.

Welcome, Besides reading the FAQs and taking the safety course get the video, Ride Like a Pro, on the INTERNET. Then, practice, practice. Also go to the Gallery and to the FOMs, (fury of the month) to get some ideas. Look for Mr Bybers bike to get a good look at a matte, if you want to break out the credit cards.
Good Luck.
