Hello!
Hi all, thought I'd stop here first and say "ello" :-)
Just bought my Fury a week ago today and so far I am LOVIN it! Beautiful bike and great fun to ride! Owned a fair few bikes over the years, a mix of cruiser types and sportsbikes, but after owning my R1 for the past three years, it was time for a change...having never owned a chopper before, I just knew I had to have a Fury!
I'm originally from Scotland (a town called Hamilton) and have been living in the US for seven years now, in a city called Sherwood in sunny Arkansas. Enjoy it here apart from the tornadoes, poisonous snakes and spiders...damn Black Widows!
Just finished ripping out the baffles on the Cobra exhaust, after reading a fair few of the posts on here...and with that info in hand, I made my very own "removal stick" lol. A broom handle with a small bolt through it...did the trick nicely! The top baffle was a twat, but the bottom one came out no problem at all! Couple of things I wondered (and couldn't see direct answers on the other posts) are; the holes left on the exhausts where the little screws were, does everyone who has removed the baffles just leave that hole "open"? Also, do I "have to" do anything specific with the engine now that the baffles are out? Read some posts about fuel management, is that an absolute necessity? Will running the bike with the baffles out and no changes do any harm?
Sorry for the Q's, but I've only ever been good at knowing how to ride and how to make bikes/cars look shiny, lol. Not very technically savvy at all.
Glad to be here and look forward to getting to know you all better :-)
Slainte! ~ Gordon.
P.S. Pics up soon...it's a 2010 in the maroon red.

I've been riding mine for about 7000 miles with no baffles. I have stock air breather, and no fuel controller. You'll be fine...

Thanks Reaper :-) I had a V-Star a fair few years ago with some straight through shotgun pipes and didn't do anything to that bike, never had any issues there just LOUD pipes.

Ach, we're all brothers together in our hatred of the English! Lol! Aye, it's a good movie, although not that historically accurate...Hollywood, what can ya say? My home town is about 30 mins south of Stirling, where the famous battle of Stirlng Bridge took place (the battle in the movie where Wallace gives his famous "Freedom" speech) and it was one of the first places I took my wife when we first met...she's American and the reason I now live in the states...she LOVED Stirling Castle and the William Wallace monument.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting a Fury, you'll love it more the longer you have had it, and don't be surprised when the wife is jealous of the bike and you're broke from upgrading things lol.

Slainte, Gordon.
I'm part Scottish myself. The "ish" part
(ok, I used that joke when I've told people I'm part Irish, too. but, truth be told, it's my liver that is part Irish )
Cheers.
