Hello from Hawaii / NYC
Just wanted to say that I've been a lurker on this forum for long enough, and I am very glad to finally become a member! I've gotten lots of good info and advice here and I hope to be a contributor as well to help where I can.
I recently moved back to my home (Hawaii) where I was born and raised, from Manhattan-NYC. I worked on Wall Street for a while there, chairing my own investment firm, then sold the business. I am currently out of the finance industry and loving it and spend my days reading books and working on my Fury.
As an entrepreneur I am thinking about starting a motorcycle related small business next, but unsure where the opportunities are in this interesting economy.
Anyway, I am trying to learn more about working on bikes and have so far done all of the work on my '11 white Fury. However, nothing is more upsetting to me when I bust ass on the bike, installing all of my aftermarket goodies, then I fire it up and the bike goes psycho (or doesn't start at all!).
Therefore, I hope to become a much better mechanic by hanging around here and tinkering with my own Fury, then eventually being knowledgable enough to give some pointers to others who may be newbie mechanics as well.
At the end of the day, I am glad to be on a forum with like minded people who ride one of the best retail cruisers out there, the Honda Fury. I was within a hair of buying a new Harley fatboy (had cash in hand and almost signed contract) but I am glad I went with another Honda! (long story as to why I didn't buy the Harley!).
Anyway I hope to be speaking with you all soon!
