Subscribing to threads

I've noticed that when I subscribe to threads and select instant email notification, sometimes I get an email and sometimes I don't. It seems to be purely random. Any ideas on why or how to fix? It's not my email spam filter otherwise none would come through. It has to be this site.

You are only supposed to get one email notifying you that there has been a post since you last visited the thread. I haven’t noticed this problem, but will try to watch for it.

Who is your service provider for email (Yahoo, MSN, HotMail, Gmail, etc.)?

If you're getting too many emails at once (queued up from so many active subscriptions) from "Honda Fury Forums: Honda Chopper Forum [furyforums.com@verticalscope.com]", your email server may be marking some of them as SPAM.

I have yahoo and once upon a time it would send me tons of them. I liked it that way. Now, for example, on the thread motivational posters... I've subscribed and I will get an email saying that there's been a new post to the thread. So I go to read it and see that there were several new posts to the thread and I only got an email about the last one. Sometimes there have been pages of new posts that I never got an email about. Then I have to go back through them to catch up. It's not a huge deal but it's irritating. If I had gotten an email about the FIRST new post and then no more, that would have been fine. It just seems like the site decides depending on it's mood whether or not to keep me updated.

Thats how it works for me. After I post, it will give me a notification when there is a post done after mine. Not EVERY post, just that there are new posts and it won't send any more notifications until I post again. It's always worked that way for me.

It only notifys me of the next post after I viewed the thread. I do not get an email for every post and dont think that I ever have.

That's just it. If it notified me of the next one, I'd be happy as a clam. But sometimes it doesn't notify me until 15 posts later... Usually if someone replies with a quote to something I posted, I will get an email right away. But if I haven't posted anything lately, sometimes it just forgets about me for a while...

So, the question is ... are you visiting the Forum when you get notified so as to reset the notification setting such that you would be notified upon the next reply?

The note in the email SHOULD read:
"but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the THREAD again"

I understand that. But when I get the email and visit the thread, I will see that there were 4 or 5 other replies PREVIOUSLY that I never got an email about.
